Anyone else into automatic wristwatches?

My Seiko SSA003K2 arrived yesterday :)

It turns out that getting automatics out here is quite a struggle. Finally, after almost 3 weeks of running after every brick and mortar Seiko retailer in the city, I gave up and ordered on Amazon.

Thanks a bunch to everyone on this thread, especially the OP @HeavyDuty - I wouldn't have got this had I not come across this thread :D

Only on Talkbass do we thank other people for making us spend money :D

Well, I caved in and ordered a Vostok Amphibia - a cheap and cheerful Russian automatic:

(The review is of a slightly different version)

It may turn out to be a piece of kitschy junk :p but I couldn't resist a 70USD automatic that *might* keep alright time.

Anyone have any experience of these?

My wife said she'd buy me the automatic version of this dive watch when it's available

I'm waiting for my latest automatic to arrive from Singapore - a Seiko SRP637.

May I ask where you ordered it from? :D

BTW, after that that Seiko I posted about a few posts back, I've already bought a couple of other watches in the past month - a simple Weekender and an Eco-Drive. I'm already mulling getting my next automatic within the next few months, and this is when I've basically had only 4 or so watches before this in my life. I think this thread might have led me onto a GAS-y path.

I like the Grand Seiko GS62 and a few JDM Seikos, as well as some Tissots.
I do like a handwind - even more than an Auto I think.

I am 'without' at the moment (I ended up giving my refurbished Sea-Gull to my son as a present) - my everyday watch is a Quartz Tissot PR100 blue face.

Edit The JDMs I like:
SARB033 / SARB035 black face / white-cream face
SARB023 “Spirit”
SARB045 blue face
SARB017 “Alpinist” Green face gold markers, brown leather strap
SARB065 “Cocktail time”

D@mn you TB! Now I got watch gas, haven't worn a watch in years. Are they all as gigantic as they look? I have slender wrists, anyone know off the top of their head of any compact ones around $200? Been digging around a bit, so far l'm liking the seiko SRP583.
