Anyone else out there "play" guitar?

IMG_20190203_083024861_LL.jpg
Or can you really play guitar? I bought a gretsch a while back with the intention of making the crossover. Well, I can play punk and some reggae. Hahahaha. It seems like a waste of a nice guitar to hold onto it but Its beautiful and I like to noodle a bit.

Teles are the absolute sexiest thing with 6 strings made. I want one so so badly. But u can't justify spending the coin. Because I suck lol. And I have a laundry list of bass stuff to buy

Three hundred bucks will often get you a G&L Tribute "tele" as the Stupid Deal of the Day. Squiers are even cheaper, and these days the quality isn't too bad.

I mainly play the guitar but also am decent bass, piano, uke, and blues harp player. Also mess around with a 4 string banjo. Lately I’ve been playing a lot of bass.

I have 2 early 90’s Epiphone Les Pauls, a Godin 5th Ave, Alvarez 12 fret Acoustic, and a couple 40’s and 50’s department store parlor guitars.

In the past 18 months or so I've been really trying to practice what I preach and buy American made products.

Huh. Okay.

But then you don't get to complain about being unable to justify the spending. The savings provide the justification. And what's more American than capitalism? Especially when the offshore products are so well-made these days.

Anyway. If that's the Gretcsch 5120, it's not American either.

I’ve got my American jazz bass listed for sale but I’m finding it hard to list my American Strat and I’ve never played a gig on guitar, only bass.

I’ve made the decision about which 4 basses to keep, (P, fretless PJ, fretless J, J5). which guitars is more difficult. Do I really need a Strat and tele? The neck on the tele is fantastic though. Why do I need two Strats? Well the colour matches the J5 and the other is a 60’s road worn that feels so comfortable to play in bed. Then a Jazz box as well.

4 guitars, 4 basses, +2 acoustics, +2 uprights. That’s not unreasonable no?

I've had it for a few years. I'm aware it's Korean. But ya know American made= American jobs. But I've got plenty of off shore made instruments. Sold most. What I have has sentimental value so they stay. Just something in into. Nothing against anyone who buys imports. My favorite fender neck ever is a CIJ.

I have an American Fender Strat Deluxe (case queen), a MIM Fender Strat, a Chinese Squier Strat, some EP that I can't even recall where it is or exactly what it is, a Yamaha acoustic... and then my two favorites - a Fender American Tele (case queen #2) and a Taylor 214ce. That's seven guitars plus the two basses (Squier Jazz and a Fender MIM Jazz...). Dang - I've never counted them before...

I'm currently praticing on the MIM Fender Strat more than anything else. I picked it up used and it's not perfect, but very, very nice none the less. It's just "enough used" that I don't mind leaving it out so I can play whenever I want. Same with the Yamaha acoustic. I suppose the same would go for the EP... if I knew where it was! I don't play the Squier Strat much, but it was my first electric so I suppose I should keep it.
