Anyone else totally happy with their basses?

Bought the purple bass many many years ago... Maybe 22+ years by now, more than happy with it. The brown bass I bought shortly after since I was gigging a lot and felt I needed an extra. But it doesn't sound as good as the purple one, sounds good, but it's not quite the same. The spalted maple I got just because I got a good price on it and said "why not". But, it doesn't sound like the purple bass either.... the difference is due to the pu's so i will at some point look into new electronics.
So after all these years the bass that I considered "the one" still reigns. No need to look around, other than to lust after used Modulus' on eBay or reverb.
Unfortunately, or fortunately as the case may be, it is not.
I think about this once in awhile & I'm still happy.

Yep. I've got a Madeira 30 1/2" scale 4 string that I love to death. I'd like to get it's daddy one day, the Guild JS II. Never played one but I sure want to.

I’m there. American Fender P bass (my main) , a Stingray (my first electric and its sentimental value) and 3 Fender jazz bases. Sold my Rickenbacker last year. Just never took to it. Had it for 5 years. Nuthin!
I’m yet to know. I have never owned a Bass amp before but soon I am going to purchase an Aguilar DB751 with an Aguilar 410. I have an American Pro Jazz and a US Standard Jaguar Bass which both sound crazy good through an Ampeg BA610 combo.
I’m in a unique position to be able to get the high end Aguilar stuff and I’m going to grab it with both hands because I’m so sick of not easily being able to get a great or even good Bass tone when recording or playing live. I have these two nice Basses and I deem them lifers although I am a collector of gear so I know I’ll get a P and either or both a Ricky or a Hofner Club Deluxe but the point is, I want a keeper for an amp. I want to be able to dial in a tone that will Funk, Soul, Blues, Jazz, Rock and anything in between on any instrument I own such are my musical tastes and endeavours. I guess personally speaking, I will answer the question this way. I’d rather have a fine collection of guitars and music gear than a fine collection of cars. I live for collecting beautiful gear so no, enough is never enough.

I can relate to you.. My moods are different all the time, not bad or good, just different and I’ll pick up one of my guitars one day and although it will never feel awful, I just might not be feeling that particular one this day and on other days, it’s the only one I want to play. All my guitars have been selected carefully so each of them feels magnificent at some point or another!! I love that about having options, it negates feeling flat on an instrument. No pun intended.
Yes! I have a custom made bass (I call Thunderella). It was made by Tom Jacobs at Jacobs Custom Guitars on Merritt Island, Fl. to a combination of mine and Fender specs. PB neck and Jazz body. Specially contoured body. And Seymour Duncan Vintage pickups. I'll never get rid of this bass!! I've got a Rick 4003 as a back-up and a couple of lessor basses but nothing plays like Thunderella. And yes, he can make one to your specs, too.
Totally happy with mine! made for Marcus Miller as a passive version of his and bought by me! looked right, plays like a dream, if he wasn't happy with it, I sure am!
I actually was for the longest time. I have a 90's American Standard Fender P, and an 80's MIJ Fender P. This seems to have happened in the last few months, but I just don't enjoy playing either of them any more. I want to make a complete change. Maybe I'll move onto a Stingray.
