Anyone else try using a pick with a fretless bass?

Sometimes I use pick with my fretless. As well as fingers and thumb for different things. I got my fretless for the tonal options, rather than for a typical fretless sound. So I also have a fretted, a Bass VI, and a B-E-A-D (I'm just not into 5 strings) bass for the rest of my requirements. And an acoustic too.

@Ric5 fffffffffecking gorgeous bass, man!

You aren't the only one to pick at a fretless, I loved to back when I had one. I can't say that it made an ideal-for-everybody sound, but I loved every position, particularly palm muting. Enjoy!

btw, what picks are you using?

I’ve been learning bass switching over from guitar. Tonight I tried using a pick with the fretless. It’s just so much more natural due to years playing guitar. But the tone knob has to be cut back. 2016…still relatable in 2022
