I've been thinking of getting myself a grinder and grind my own coffee for my daily cappuchino. But I am quite happy with [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] coffee - and I use the empty cans for storing various parts at my workshop.

My favorite is Brazil Santos from Central Market and a blend called "Tip of the Andes" that I get locally...oh an La Minita is good too..I took that camping this weekend.

I love coffe.
Lately, I've been been ordering from a local roaster http://www.stivescoffee.com they have free shipping for all U.S. orders.
Normally, I do not like any kind of flavored coffee, but they have one called "Highlander Grog" for $10.49/lb that is awesome. It has a strong maple flavor and I usually brew a pot every Sat/Sun morning for breakfast.
Most of their prices are $10-$12. They do "wholesale" orders of 20 lbs. or more to the public for roughly a 40% discount.
They will also roast to order - as light or as dark as you want. Everything is done to order and I highly recommend them.

A good, strong - black - coffee is one of my fave things in life - I should be sponsored by Lavazza - it's my life-blood somedays - I am definitely keeping it to about 2 - 3 cups a day but boy, do I love those cups...I usually get a practice buzz on first thing before working - but I won't drink the stuff after 4pm unless I have a long night ahead - it stops me relaxing prperly - and when I DO want to sleep - that nawing caffeine feeling late at night is no fun.

During the Olympics one morning on the Today Show they had this guy come from a popular shop and he was going to make a "gourmet" iced-coffee drink that is really popular in Greece. So they start up the making of it and the guy is using nescafe instant coffee. NESCAFE?! Are you kidding me?! This guy runs a coffee shop? It kinda seemed like the host of the show was thinking the same thing as soon as he said "nescafe." That's some nasty stuff.

I visited Mexico years ago and was shocked that all the waiters at Mexican restaurants would ask us if we would like Nescafe... First I thought that maybe the word "Nescafe" had come to mean "coffee" in a generic way, but after tasting the stuff, it was sho' nuff - yuchy Nescafe.
I have lived in Kona now for about 10 years - I have 2 small coffee trees in my yard. Not big enough to produce beans, but all my neighbors grow acres of the stuff. Sadly, with the price of Hawaiian real estate going through the roof in the last 5 years, Kona coffee is too expensive to drink every day.
That's probably just as well. The stuff makes your heart race.
Next thing you know you will be playing faster than the rest of the band, and end up getting in a fight with the drummer.

I saw a good stand-up comedian recently who had a good tip for Starbucks - basically instead of going up and asking for your order, waiting for it to be passed on the coffee maker guy/gal then collecting it at the end - just skip the first line and collect a random cup of pseudo coffee at the end - and don't pay...

I like when I go to Star*ucks, and order some fancy-schmancy "recipe" gourmet coffee-based bevvie, then tell them to hold the sugar. Oh, and no cream. Oh, and an extra shot of hot water. Oh, and no syrup. Umm...and could I have that in a Biggie size. Yes, that's correct. Uh-huh....OMG- you're like....so SMART! You actually decoded all my runaround for PLAIN OLD CUP OF COFFEE! ! ! They alsways get the "deer-in-headlights" look. Either that, or they call me a wiseass, then laugh. And I still get a cuppa joe...

ya man, nothing like a cup of plain ol black coffee to course through system, those candy flavored drinks dont keep me awake.:scowl:
I also refuse to say "Grande" or "Vente" when forced to go to starbucks. I dont think they like that........

I stopped in there recently when I was riding with my brother and his wife to dallas so she could get some coffee. I must admit that "liquid chocolate" stuff (different from the hot chocolate) that they're advertising sounds intriguing. Anyone tried it?
