anyone here straight edge?

just wondering if anyone on this forum is straight edge? i claimed when i was 17 (but never drank or did any drugs before then) and i'm now 21 and still don't (contrary to some "straight edge" people's choices, straight edge is a life-long commitment). but anyways, just seeing if there's anyone else here who is. oh, and don't worry, i'm not one of those guys who hates on people who aren't straight edge (i know some of you have probably heard horror stories of straight edge people beating up people for drinking/smoking around them).

I think "straight edge" is just a lame as term so people can categorize others.

I choose not to drink, or do drugs, because in my opinion, it's a waste of time. I will have a CASUAL drink with family or close friends, but nothing more.

I hate how everyone needs a label.

Does this mean you're going to be celibate for life?

I am not straight edge, but why would someone who is beat up someone else for smoking/drinking around them? Not to be stereotypical, but in my experience it's usually the straight edge kids who get their asses kicked by the druggies...

I don't drink or smoke.




That being said, I still think straight edge is lame, and refuse to be categorized with said lameness. I have my own reasons for not drinking/smoking that don't revolve around being trendy or getting scene points.

Not knowing how to party? Straightedge kids know how to party IMO and they don't need enhancement from drugs or alcohol to do it.

And what makes you think straight-edged people don't enjoy women? haha

Drugs I can do without, illegality and addiction does not bode well with me. Booze though, why not?

All the SxE kids I know like boys too, often displayed in a rather flagrant manner.

I have a friend down in the states and we were discussing this. She says I'm not straight edge because I don't push those believes on her.

I don't drink (maybe half a drink at a cast party, but I just don't like alcohol), definatly don't smoke, and I don't use drugs.

But I am a red blooded meat eater! And I think most straight edgers are vegan (or at least the annoying straight edgers)
