Wearing the same clothes is a great branding tool, recognizable as you every time.

So true! Consider all the cartoon characters who never changed costume. Charlie Brown wore the same T shirt for fifty years.

Yes and no...

From the ground up it will be every time Black Hiking Boots, Faded dark blue Carpenter Jeans and the required underlayment, some sort of shirt. I am a big dude, so I tend to wear a LOT of black on stage. Black polo shirt, black T shirt, black long sleeve dress shirt, or almost black / charcoal, weather dependent sunglasses or not, and a black 10 gallon felt hat.

Having said that, I am in a trio of hacks and we are sort of standardized on our look / presentation. Black high tops or boots, dark but faded jeans, some sort of black or charcoal shirt, and a black or charcoal hat.

So for example, I play with 2 guitarists, a lead, and a rhythm guitar. (Drums are from synth for now, looking for a drummer that will put up with us is a pain).

Lead Guitar. Black All Stars, dark blue Levis, Black long sleeve dress shirt with charcoal pinstripes, black wraparound sunglasses, and black Fedora. Rhythm guitar, Black Addidas I think they are, Dark blue jeans, probably Walmart specials of some flavor, Black long sleeve "Fishing" shirt, and black straw 10 gallon hat. Me, Black Wolverine hikers, dark blue carpenters, Black long sleeve shirt and black felt 10 gallon hat.

Every spring Costco puts out their selection of silk Hawaiian-style shirts and I always buy a few, usually just to replace any that were lost due to attrition during the prior year.
They're long enough to cover my waistline so there is no buckle rash.
At least 3 are always blue - I play blues so ta da.
Black pants.
Done.

Same for every gig. Black shirt, black pants, blackshoes, sometimes a black tie or jacket. Always appropriate, whether an elegant club date or restaurant, biker bar, Gothic heads, metal heads, jazz, classical etc. Also looks good with my grey hair.

I always thought Jack Kirby's comic book character KAMANDI had good, minimal togs.... Boots, cut-offs and a holster cover essentials.

I kinda do. Black or white long sleeved t-shirt, black dress pants, and one of about 25 different bowling shirts we have, with black monochrome Chucks or black dress shoes. Occasionally we wear suits of some kind, but we have a basic uniform and rarely stray from it. I like it...saves me from having to think about what to wear.

I almost always wear my army combat uniform. Most of my gigs are army band gigs.

I have 2 really nice Country shirts and just alternate them with a pair of blue or black jeans and black sketchers. Nice to know what I am going to wear and not have to worry about it. As soon as the gig is over I change clothes so my playing clothes will last.

man there are a lot of you guys sporting chucks! I'd be all crippled up 1/2 way through the first set. My Doc Marten oxfords keep my feet/back pretty happy, same pair for 6-7 years. Love the trendy jeans & bowling shirts, (black ) off seasons -earth tones or flowery Hawaiian prints with khaki shorts in the summer (tourist area) with deck shoes. Maybe a vest & dressy shirt for upscale gigs, on occasion.
