Anyone knows what model bass this is?

I've picked this up recently and looks like it originally had a pickguard that's been cut and it's poorly refinished in white.
Made in Japan, rare as lefty I'm assuming it's a Fernandes as I've found one very similar (Fernandes BO-50) but it has no pickguard and it has a control cavity.
The bridge looks like old Yamaha and it was maybe swapped.
Anybody knows what model this could be?

Sadly, I have no idea what brand/model that bass is but it's gorgeous! Who knew a NT P-bass could be so sexy?!?!

I’m going to guess that it’s late 1970s to early 1980s Japan but I can’t guess the brand. Many of those instruments were marketed under multiple brand names.

It could be a first-generation Memphis with a partial refin, although I've never seen a lefty Memphis.

I did a quick search on Memphis bass and I did not see one single neck thru bass. The Fernandes BO-50 is a perfect match even the notch for the truss rod access at the heel. Only difference is that one was routed from the rear side.
Reminds of the bottom right bass in this catalog.

I was looking at the Aria catalogs and no matches. Westone? I'll check but so far the Fernandes seems to be the closest match.

I did see one neck-thru Memphis bass, in a Centre, AL antique mall years ago. Even held it in my hand. Would have bought it except I did not have the $50 being asked. I should have gone home and got the money, come back, and bought the bass.

I've seen all these and so far I'm thinking the closest one is the BO-50 as it does not have string through the body.
But again, interesting that my lefty has top route.

One way to find out is stripping the white paint.
I'm not doing that any time soon but I can see natural finish right next to the pickup where the finger rests.
It may look great in the pics but this white finish is poorly done, thick and there's a lot of overspray clear coat that even feels rough.

Yeah, I only remember very few examples of Westone with a 4 in a row headstock - most of their basses were 2+2.

So that refin looked cool from the distance but it was poorly done and very thick.
I've tried to sand it down but gave up. I then tried some nail polish cleaner and it partially melted the finish but it also made it very sticky.
So I wiped it all down with alcohol and to my surprise it was melting the finish! So I've used that instead. A lot of wiping and a lot of rags after, it cleaned up really nice. The body was then buffed and waxed.
It feels like it lost 1lb without the extra paint
