Gearhead, the frequency of mids I was talking about is specifically around 100-250hz where there isn't much clutter if the mix is eq'd correctly. If the music your playing calls for scooped mids, use scooped mids. I'm saying that in a lot of cases scooped mids will be lost in the mix.

I scoop mids if I really don't feel like anyone hearing my playing![]()

I've been crankin my mids for years to "cut through"...I have to say, this is almost life-changing! Maybe it was just my amp? Or my cabs? Or my settings? I dunno, but now, wherever I put my actual instrument settings, the sound is still clear and punchier.
