Anyone seen a good 2x10 cab???

I am a happy Acme owner. My guess is that you may want to try the ACME 1x10 model. It should require less power, or perhaps some other brand of single 10, 12 or 2x8. SWR make a couple single cones you may want to check out as well.

Carvin makes a 2x10 that Bass Player liked, check them out as well.

The Carvin 210's are OK, but they don't have much low end to them. They start to roll off at ~60Hz. That may not sound too bad, until you realize that your low E is ~40Hz, and if you're playing a low B equipped bass, you're in the neighborhood of 31Hz. The Carvin runs out of gas at about an octave over the low B. My ears have confirmed the numbers as well, no pant flap with their 10" equipped cabs. The Peavey on the other hand is ~ -3dB @ 30Hz, and again, my ears and jeans have confirmed these numbers, major pant flappage is possible with the Peavey vs. the Carvin. Some people point to the "psychoacoustic" effect, and say that your ear will "fill in" the missing frequencies, but nothing beats them acually BEING THERE.

Angus I have not seen bag end in UK

Acme are non existant here as well. EU have only been over here since the summer and only 3 shops stock them.

I have followed this thread as I am in cab shopping mode.
I will be trying Hartke Trace and the Eden the one everyone here (it seems) is raving over.

Just my two cents/pennies/centimes

I like my SWR Goliath Jr.III a lot-it's really clear sounding, and small and light enough to be portable. It's not as ballsy as the Eden but that actually works to my advantage when I'm playing in small rooms or with acoustic jazz projects. And it kicks butt when I use it with my SWR SOB 1-15.

I actually have two Goliath three jr.'s for sale. They are definitely more clean and less bassy than an Eden 210xlt, but weigh in at a much more manageable 40+ lbs. I'm downsizing even more than these and have gone to 1 EA 1 10 cab and an EA 2-08. The gigs I'm playing don't need as much bottom end to the back of the room volume. I need to sound good on stage and within about 50 feet at the most.

If you'd be interested in one of (or both) of these cabs, they're in excellent condition and I'm asking $325 each + delivery.
