Any good for slap tone? I don't need the super, pingy pops but I don't what them to sound too muted either.
They sound surprisingly similar to stainless steel strings. If you A/B and record them with Stainless strings you'd be surprised. I'd definitely consider them brighter rather than mellow or darker.
They came on both my Ibanez SR's, and I love the sound, but the price![]()
Still worth every penny though as they last waaaaay longer for my uses and require less maintenance on your bass from changing strings every 5 minutes (if you are Anthony Jackson I don't use anything but Elixirs. Best bet is to find an internet store for the cheapest price, but for those complaining about costs in the U.S., you should see the prices here in Europe!Still worth every penny though as they last waaaaay longer for my uses and require less maintenance on your bass from changing strings every 5 minutes (if you are Anthony Jackson

Added bonuses are consistant recording tone day-after-day and less 'finger-squeak' due to the coating.
...................Man I gotta get a job working for Elixir!Basically they are a godsend for the slightly-sweaty-handed-player-who-kills-strings-too-quickly-while touring-type-person!
i recently bought a bulk lot of 5 @ $35-$40 a pack. Im set for a long while![]()
