Anyone use a Behringer Feedback Destroyer?

I got a DSP1124 in a trade from a friend. I have had it for a couple of months and decided to finally hook it up last night. In our practice space we have a constant problem with feedback and I was hoping this would help. After playing a couple of tunes it had zapped so much of the EQ that it sounded like we had cut the volume. Any tips/tricks/advice?

Use it mainly like a parametric EQ, in other words find the main problems manually. Lock in three or 4 bands on the worst offending frequencies. Then only set 2-3 more bands (if that) in roving mode. If you let a bunch of bands rove it can kill all sorts of stuff that it "shouldn't", just as you said.
