If so, what are you thinking of the new season and the crazy stuff from last nights show? I really wish (as much as I enjoy the ride) that they'd start tying up some of the 'loose ends'. You've got the LOSTaways, of whom which now Shannon is apparently dead. We know what has been goin on and happening to them. We also know where certain relationships are and with whom. But will we ever figure out why Locke is this, dare I say, anit-hero. I'd like to see Jack (Matt Fox) do some really cool ninja stuff this season. What's the deal with Claire and the baby and what happned to them? Will we ever figure out where Ethan came from and who he was with? Then you have the tailies. I really do not like Michelle Rodriguez or her charecter. I think she was the worst person to put on that show. I know we find out what happens to them next week, but we've a vague idea. Not to mention Eko is cool. But there is something rather suspicious of him. What was his real motivation (if any) for going back into the jungle? And why do he and Ana not see so much eye to eye? Then my good man Desmond (BROTHA!). Where did he run off too? Why did he (SPOILER) splice that Dharma video all up? How is it that he left no tracks? Is he an other or just damn good at not leaving tracks? I'd like to see him do some ninja stuff too. More specifically he and Jack doing something cool as a duo. The French chic, she's crazy and what happned to her? The cloud of smoke that makes noises and topples trees? Haven't seen it since the first season. A trick or voodoo magic of the others or no? Then the others, who are they and what are they? Human, I know, but how'd they get there. Why do they whisper backwards? How do they have guns (boat scene in the one episode)? Why are they taking kids (and letting at least one go) and people? Are they really murderers or just... strange? And what is up with Walt? Really him? I don't think so, but does Walt have some sort of special power? I absolutely think so. But why doe she whisper backwards too? Has he found a way to outsmart the others and chooses not to reveal himself? I mean, I guess have more theories/questions, but does anyone else? Let's figure it out folks!
Yeah, I watch it. I love it. It airs three weeks later here though than in the US so I won't be reading this thread...
Amazing show...But since so much more is revealed with each episode, anyone who isn't up-to-date SHOULD NOT read this thread. SPOILER starts here... Season 2 is only just beggining. I feel its a little slow compared to season 1. I wish they'd tie up some loose ends too...but I think they're just begginning to set up some of the major stories in the plot for season 2. Last nights episode was crazy...Do you think Shannon's really dead? Somehow I doubt they'd kill her off...unless they have some new cute chick to replace her. I hate Michelle Rodriguez's character. I can't wait till she gets hers. Kinda makes you wonder why shes so nutty though. Jack wasn't even in last nights episode...which IMO was great. I couldn't stand him by the end of season 1. But I liked him in the beggining. I think the writers set it up for him o be the hero and then become hated. I think something big is gonna go down with/because of him. Locke is my favorite. I thought he was creepy at first, but now I love him. Whats up with the #s? I think each # is going to have some significance for each of the main characters. Remember how that farmer dude turned Kate in for $23 g's.
I don't mind Jack at all. But I do agree that something big will happen involving him. Supposedly, the # thing is supposedly revealed and tied up this season. So I hear anyway. Guess we won't know about Shannon until 2 weeks from now. But all the publicity thinkgs she's out. And once again I agree, Ana (Michelle Rodriguez) ought to get hers and soon. Not only the charecter but the actor that plays her. Golly she is a horrible actress.
I really want to like it, and I try to watch it. I just can't. The countless loose ends, the strange flashbacks just add up to something I can not bear. It doesn't capture my attention enough to devote an hour to it week after week. -Mike
We're in the second season honeymoon for this show. However, if they don't start drawing the threads together and answering as many questions as they're raising, audiences will tire of the show. Like Stephen King -- another fan of the show -- says, the powers that be should keep things moving and kill it quick when they're done. I hate what happened to the X-Files.
I loved the show last year. This year it's just tiresome. I swear the first two episodes took two hours to move the plot in 15 minutes of actual time. If they don't get better soon, it's going to lose me. For the record, Shannon's not dead yet!
I'm with you on that one. Back to Lost....I know what you mean Burk about Shannon not being dead yet. To me, that will end up being another story line they will drag out all season. It just isn't worth it. -Mike
As for season 2 feeling a bit slow, I got the same feeling after the found the hatch in season 1. Ever since that point I felt like they just dragged that whole season out(and they found the hatch in like...episode 9 or 10 I think, not sure). I do watch the show, but I don't find it to be all that great. The Shannon/Sayid conversation at the end of last nights episode was unbelievable to me and I almost turned it off right then(despite like 2 minutes left in the episode). Also what happened at the end, I figured it would happen after they showed SPOILER Boone's grave. I find the episodes just start out with something neat, then kinda drag out til the last 5 minutes, and same thing with the next episode. The episodes/series moves pretty slowly IMO, and while yes it focuses mostly on characters, we know a lot about the old characters, the new characters are all fairly boring(apart from Echo, that guy rocks). And I completely agree about Michelle Rodriguez. She seems to always play the tough chick character, and while I found it somewhat decent in Resident Evil, now it just grates on my nerves. I've watched since day 1, and will probably continue watching it(I've yet to miss an episode) til it ends. Its a good show but there is definately room for improvement.
spoilers I loved the first season, but I'm not digging the new season too much either. I'm bummed they killed off Shannon, 'cause I hated her at first then by the end of the first season she really grew on me (the opposite happened with Kate). Jack, Locke, Hurley, Jin/Sun, Sawyer, Sayid, Walt/Mike are interesting characters whereas Charlie, Claire, French Chick, and pretty much the entire back of the plane (except echo) and especially michelle rodriguez are annoying. I'm hoping next week's extended episode covers the entire back of the plane's backstory and they don't turn it into a multi-episode deal with flashbacks for all of them.
just to dig up an old grave here... i downloaded the entire first season from iTunes. i watched all of the episodes in about 5 days. i was hooked. downloaded the first part of the second season. i thought it was good until about 4 episodes into it. i still watch it though, mostly i just want to see where they go with all of these loose ends.
The 1st season was so good. I was the same way...got totally hooked and watched it all in 2 weekends. 2nd season started of great, but has been pissing me off alot lately. Too many repeats...and why was there no new episode for like 2 months after they started the new season off so strong. Ehh...i might just wait for the 2nd season to hit dvd so I can watch it all at once.
I'm ecstatic that they killed off Shannon. By Michelle Rodriguez's hands no less. At least she served a purpose IMO. I agree that Cha'lie, Claire, French Chick, and the "extras" as I call em are uninteresting and somewhat annoying. Heroin Head Cha'lie especially. The flashbacks are really quite annoying, I wish they could give you more time with what's happening on the island, rather than seeing what everyone did before they crashed. The Others are quiet so far, I'm wondering when the War is going to happen. AuG
NOT really fun. I began to wonder how can they logicalize all the crazy stuff and make one sane solution. It's just way too many questions and i 'm about to lose the interest to see the answers. I can hardly believe there is any possible answers exist. I like the new season "prison break" more.
"Locke is my favorite. I thought he was creepy at first, but now I love him". +1.....I think Locke is the most interesting character on the series, I've watched most of the episodes since season 1 and It's still held my interest for the most part. I do agree that they really need to start cleaning up some loose ends, but that's probably what keeps us all watching. George
I agree, Locke is my favorite too. I'm glad that he's finally taking charge again and not flaking out so much. There are a TON of loose ends now but I think that all adds to the show because you want to know how it all ties together. When you look at it individually: -Polar Bears -The Hatch -The Others -The Black "Smoke" -Whatever the thing is in the woods that knocks down trees -The connection to the outside world that the others seem to have -All the ways each person is somehow tied into one another and/or the island (Like Ekko landing on the same island his brother crash lands on as well?) Not of it adds up so it'll be interesting to see how it's all explained.
