After reading some of the other posts, I am almost embarassed to respond. I do not get a holiday bonus but I'm actually very fortunate. My company runs their business in terms of periods rather than months. There are 13 four week periods. (13 x 4 = 52 weeks). I get a bonus every period and it is always more than enough to pay my mortgage. I also get a bonus every quarter which is usually around 5 times more than the period bonus. I have a very good base salary and have 24 hour per day use of a company car with a gas card. I work Monday through Friday and can usually leave my house any time I want to and go home whenever I am finished for the day. Most weeks I work less than 40 hours.

Being a teenager and in retail, I was fortunate to get a 100$ bonus this year...Which promptly went towards building my 2010 Jazz deluxe...

My company employs about 50,000 people nationwide which is probably why they do not give holiday bonuses. All of our bonuses are performance based.
Bad business year- I bonus-ed the crew anyways. Its late December and there is money in the bank, I am grateful and blessed- I couldnt have done it without the crew.
Profit? not much this year- but again- indoors, healthy family, PRICELESS!

I work at Lincoln Electric in Euclid Ohio and yes we got a bonus this year. I feel very blessed having a job so that I can feed,clothe,and put a roof over my familys head. I paid off my 2002 Dodge Ram with it. Oh, I bought the truck used. It wasn't an 8 year loan! No musical equipment this year for me. Possibly next year.............we shall see.
Actually about a half an hour after I posted this I received a bonus and cash too. I have been with this company for less than a year. I worked 18 years at the place before this and got $100 checks with taxes taken out only once in a while.
Just moved back to my hometown doing the same thing I did at my last job(woodwind repair). My last job gave us a nice cash bonus. This job it was in the form of cheese popcorn. But I'm lucky to have a job and even luckier to be at pretty much the only store in my hometown that would be able to provide steady work for me

We also get a 13. Salary in Dec. So we work 12 Months and get paid for 13

What I'm waiting for is for someone to post that they are VP of some bank they ran into bankruptcy but got bailed out by the gummint so they still got their 10 million bonus this year anyway...
As for me and the other geezers, my "bonus" comes from SS and I hate to tell you there ain't no "bonus" there! In fact according to them there isn't any inflation either. Hence:
No bonus...but a 'bama.
We wont find out until after the january BOD meeting. Considering the insane amount of progress we made this year I doubt they'd say no, but either way it doesn't get paid out until february sometime. Hoping for a nice raise (or at least a cost of living adjustment considering our health care has gone up 30% in the last two years).

here in Mexico it's standard practice to recieve an extra paycheck/deposit in December . . . it's called "alguinaldo" . . .

In Singapore, it is quite common for companies to give employees an additional paycheck in December. It's called Annual Wage Supplement.
On top of that, because I work in the government and Singapore has recovered quite well from the recession, I got an extra month's worth of bonus.
All in all, about two months on top of what I should be getting, as well as a good chance of a 10% increment in Jan 2011.
Spent it on some home furnishings, gave some of them to my folks and bought the VT Bass Deluxe for myself.
On top of that, because I work in the government and Singapore has recovered quite well from the recession, I got an extra month's worth of bonus.
All in all, about two months on top of what I should be getting, as well as a good chance of a 10% increment in Jan 2011.

I work for the family biz and this year has been the worst
to the point that my bosses (i.e. my parents) have to sell their home
but I still have a roof over my head
so thats a bonus

Our business was better this year than any year since 2007.. and I got a whopping $50!
the owner said he couldnt afford much "because of the economy"!!!
..in fact most years, he has to give the business a personal loan of $10,000 from his own account to get thru our slow season that the business pays him back in the busy season, and this was the first year ever that he didnt have to do that!!.. but "the economy" is killin him...
but hey.. my buddy's "bonus" was to find out that he was getting a pay cut effective Jan. 1 that would effectively cut out an entire month of pay over the year.. so he got an 11 instead of a 13!! so i guess i shouldnt bitch.

No job, no bonus. I am in school, so I am not complaining. The job that I had for the summer paid out my bonus at the end of August, it went promptly to my tuition.
