Never thought of that. Yes, we used to get the Christmas week off, paid. I guess that was our bonus (and better than money when you think of it).
I have to agree! I've been unemployed for just over a year, but the bills are paid and I have no complaints. Those of you who are getting bonuses, I hope you put them to good use. Put a smile on somebody's face (even if that somebody is you).
Our bonuses will not be announced until some time after the New Year, but I put in a lot of hours and expect to get a signficant bonus.
Feeling very lucky at this time. Yes I did receive one and it was bigger then last years. Hopefully its a sign of a pay raise. I have a Lakland 55-02 on order. Not all bonus money, I traded in some gear and the balance in cash. But I have to wait till FEB!!! I also am eyeballing a GKneo2x12 used with the balance. Then some stuff for the wife and kid LOL!!
I hate hearing the stories of those who are struggling with finding employment these days. And to those who don't get a bonus, I guess the positive is that you still have a job of some kind. I'm fortunate that I will receive a substantial bonus this year, and it has been that way for the last 12 years I have been employed by my company. Just reading these few stories has made me realize how blessed I am. To all who may be struggling, keep your heads up and stay positive!!
I was a Contractor for DHHS/FDA, and last year... our christmas bonus was the termination of our contract... a week before christmas.
Spent the first 5 years working for New Mexico State University in an Aerospace and Defense contracting lab (NASA Sounding Rockets and High Altitude Balloon program). Then I came to work for a *small* private company in the bio-detection field about 5 years ago. That company got bought by an investment firm who's sole purpose was to make money; they went public ASAP and then did everything possible to not spend money ("raise" and "bonus" were words best not spoken). Now we're part of FLIR Systems as of 2 months ago.
We'll see what the future holds.

Three years ago when things slowed down he took away our company cell phones, benefits, and no more working overtime, no more raises. Said we "should get them back when things turn".

Got a small bonus and the promise that I'll get my 2% paycut from last year back but I'm not holding my breath. I have to see it to believe it these days.
Don't you love the corporate "we made record profits last quarter....we have to lay off 2500 more folks." Seem to get one of those every quarter. We really are seeing capitalism at it's worst right now and I hope things turn around soon.

I will very likely get a bonus this year, 3-7% depending on profits, but none of it will go to musical stuff. Need new counter tops / dishwasher. Boo!
we've been struggling a bit the last two years. REALLY rough two years ago. but thigs are on an upswing right now. trying to see it as a positive, hopefully permanent improvement.

Got a $500 bonus just like last year. Just went and bought the Genz-Benz 4x10 Uber bass cabinet. Already had the GBE-750 amp. Now all that is left is the 1x15 bottom cab to complete my Genz-Benz stack. Woo Hoo ! ! GB has a deal going on with their dealer network. Got the 4x10 uberbass cab for $609 ( almost half price )
I'm in the wireless cellphone industry and work for a large provider here in Canada. We don't get a "Christmas" bonus. We do get a bonus every three months though so I just got mine.
Business goes very well in my area of expertise (loss adjustment). I get a very good bonus this year. Almost 5 figures.
None this year, but in the past it was in the form of 2 whole beef tenderloins.
