I had a great time at the GTG yesterday, thanks to everyone involved. Special thanks to Karl/Eilif for making this one even bigger and better than last year's! Everyone was friendly and very cool, particularly about sharing their excellent gear. I got to try an Alembic for the first time--I've been fortunate to be able to try out a lot of boutique basses, but that's a unique instrument. And thanks to Jake and Mike for bringing their great products and providing solid information about them. I'm looking forward to next year's GTG, as well as the potential fall event.

Did you bring your NS 5 String?

I'm on the lookout for a reasonable one...:)
Not this time. And I'm always far from reasonable :D

Bought my Lull M5V and my Status 5er, and my Genzler rig. Was pretty happy other people played through it so I could twiddle some of the knobs and see what they do.

UPDATE: Sub found! Thanks folks.

Hey folks,
HELP!
I'm cheating on using my thread for this, but I need a sub this weekend and this seemed like the quickest way to find a Chicago area bassist.
-I've got a gig on Saturday the 30th from 7-11 in Crete, IL.
-No rehearsal.
-Music is straightforward country and classic rock songs in a 3 piece with a guitar playing singer and pedal steel player.
-Pay is $100
-All charts are provided from the bandleader on a tablet.
PM me for more details.
Thanks!

Sounds great, but I am booked at a festival myself the same day.

Eilif, if you want me to post on the Chicago Bass Players Facebook Group, a lotta guys there live out that way. Gotta figure out how they would follow up with you or the bandleader since FB is not an option.

I’d fly back cause that’s how much I enjoyed my visit with y’all, but I got a “Almost Independence Day” outdoor gig, same time. ...$100 probly wouldn’t cover airfare either ;).

Do you want me to put it in the Chicago Bass Player group on FB? Let me know...
