Watched Avengers Infinity War the other night. There was a Rickenbacker bass in one scene.

I'm so behind on my Marvel movies... I'm not sure if I've seen the second Thor.

Nobody remembers Green Lantern. I mean, Reynolds was able to transition from Green Lantern to Deadpool without anyone blinking an eye. Green Lantern, it just didn’t work, and I completely agree with your point here.

There’s so many of them. I’m frequently confused.

I only remember it because of The Big Bang Theory.
Would’ve like to see a good Green Lantern movie, though.
I can’t imagine every getting to see my favorite on the big screen.

In the early portion of the Aquaman movie, the camera pans past what looks like a black Fender P in Thomas Curry’s living room.

I wonder if he taught his son to play? Maybe those are the vibes he uses to control sea life.

They pretty much all run together at this point. At least for me anyways. Wonder Woman is an exception..I couldn’t get past the first 20 minutes before bailing.

I just don’t understand how Aquaman got his own movie.

Jokes aside, there are a couple reasons for this. One is that people who read or work on DC comic books have known for a while that he’s not a joke; the Family Guy bits are aimed at people who only know him from the old Super Friends cartoon. To people who know comics Aquaman was nowhere near as long a shot as Ant-Man or Guardians of the Galaxy.

The other reason is that just by dumb luck Warner Bros and DC entrusted this flick (as well as Wonder Woman) to a director and stars who know how to get things done and done right. Their other big name heroes were handed off to people who either suck at these kinds of movies, don’t have their ***t together in general, or both. Until DC finds their own equivalent to Kevin Fiege over at Marvel they’re probably going to continue having a really hit or miss track record even with franchises that should have been easy hits.

I didn't think it was that bad... plus, she's hot...

... she could have been peeling potatoes, clad in a burlap sack, and I would have stayed.

I figured a fail like that would have been worthy of his presence.

It might not have been so much that Aquaman was a big draw, but that the actor sells the movie. I would imagine him being involved helped.

Besides, my point wasn’t so much about whether the flick is good, it was that the flick actually got made and released and isn’t being lambasted by critics or fans. The same can’t be said of any of DC’s other recent superhero efforts other than Wonder Woman.

Yeah I'm burned out on those movies. Infinity War was meh. Wonder Woman was very overrated as was Black Panther. I'll watch Aquaman one day.

If it makes you feel any better, I thought Captain America: Civil War was a great spectacle but otherwise a bad and aggressively stupid film. Evidently the rest of the moviegoing world had other ideas.
