Double Bass Arco Christmas solo for Christmas program

I've been asked by my teacher to do a solo piece for our 2018 Christmas concert. I'm am "advanced beginner". I'd like to find something that really "shines" on the double bass (Arco). Ideas?

Did you decide on your piece?

A pops style piece with The Christmas Song, Sleigh Ride and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas would make a musical medley that will show off what you can do. Youtube the tunes to get an idea of how they go. Pm me if you want the treble clef head sheet with really nice jazz chords. A pianist could gently comp the chords behind you.

Reminds me of going to a Christmas music gig last winter where the pianist did not show. It was a high paying duo gig, and left me standing around for an hour before a replacement could arrive. The music contractor was on holidays in Mexico at the time, I called him from the gig and we salvaged what we could. After that experience I woodshed the bow a custom book of Christmas tunes. Perhaps out of anger about that gig. Of course I will never need to play Christmas tunes solo at a gig
