Are PayPal's new rules going to affect the classifieds????

• We're increasing the time for buyers to file merchandise disputes (Item Not Received and Significantly Not as Described) from 45 days to 180 days.
• We're extending buyer protection to include item not received claims for custom made products.
• Because PayPal Seller Protection and Buyer Protection policies may vary from country to country, we're adding language to clarify which country's policy applies when a seller makes a sale to a buyer outside of the U.S.

what 180 days????? I have to wait till someone likes the bass I sold them for 6 months before I can cash out the money to make sure they dont make a claim back??????

It only covers "Item not Received" and "Significantly Not as Described". I would think that as long as they received the item and sent a PM that it was good, that should close both of those loopholes. Maybe. But I hear you. I usually don't touch the money in the PayPal account until I get positive confirmation that they buyer received the item and they're happy. I've sold a lot of things on TB and I've never had any major issues. The new policy would probably mean that I'm less likely to sell to newbs with no feedback or to international buyers. Not that International Buyers are sketchy by nature, but I have no recourse when someone is separated by country borders and distance. All case by case, of course.
