Are the extra features worth it?

I have the choice between an ESP LTD B-406SM and a B-206SM. Both nearly identical, but the B-406SM has EMG pickups with EMG preamp and neck-thru. Is the B-406SM worth the extra dough? I plan on this being my main bass for many years to come.

Looks like the 406 has a longer neck and different body wood (mahogany) to the 206 (ash). ESP website shows both having identical looking pickups and preamps, probably the same thing but different casings, like the ESP/Hipshot hardware.

IMO, the main differences would be the longer neck and body wood. The extra inch is unnoticeable during use for most people, but with my smaller hands it does make a slight difference. Mahogany sounds warmer than Ash (usually). Choose the 406 If you are comfortable with the 35" scale.

How much is the difference between the two prices?
