Are the new USA Lakland's the same?

It has a Lakland LH-3 pre in it.

I also have a 55-94 with 3 Lakland single coli pickups in it with a Lakland LH-3 pre.

The only other Lakland I've seen with 3 pickups was a 4 string Decade with three single coil J Chi-sonics

I bet that 5594 is killer! Got any pictures?

I'm pretty much in love with my Lakland's neck. the 01 I have is on par with most US made basses that I've owned besides the electronics.

I'd like a USA one day.

Really?

When I first got my 01 the neck seemed too big. After playing it a couple of days I really do enjoy it. I was playing Music Man basses for a while, so I'm used to a different profile and size neck.

The first 5 string I ever owned is my MM Stingray 5 and I have no issues with it's neck profile at all.

It really is only a negative in that Lakland doesn't really make a traditional neck despite all the talk about neck dimensions. When I discussed my frustration about this with Carl, the first thing he asked was "Why are you playing up there? There's nothing really going on up there!". Really? That's how you talk to a customer buddy? Of course in actuality, he is a guitar player ..lol...

Again, I do not really see this as a "problem". This is their design, and they have a lot of happy customers with it. I just don't care to be locked in to a preset neck curve, that's all. I am going to contact them and see if it is possible to get a traditional fingerboard on their necks.

NOT USAC.....

BTW - to the OP...I do not beleive my frets do that and I currenlty have 4 US Laklands (and have had many more thoughout the years)....

all of the fretwork is done in house....

that dual J is aweome!!!

I had a teal dual J 5er and REALLY liked it but had to get rid of it to fund a new project...

I also have a dual CHI JO5er (the first production one made) and the CHIs are amazing!!! truly amazing!!!

I was having a buzz on the A string (only) and he said..."so what...you still have 4 other strings to use...."

I think he was kidding with you....

he DOES play guitar AND bass....both very well....he is also the most talented luthier I have ever met!
