There was just a thread recently about the alembic price increase, all the alembic players probably showed their face there. Do a search for it.

Cool basses. I'd like a Spyder myself, but prefer the std cone headstock.

I have two Alembics, a Series 1 and a Clarke SD. Love 'em. Beautiful tone, beautiful to play and beautiful to look at.

jeanbaudin, that's a nice one. I'm noticing the EMG's, and are those THG knobs? Nice lookin' bass.

I have an Epic 5 (on my avatar), a custom Series II fiver, and a 3/4 size standard fretless 5.

Alembic makes very nice basses. Some of the best IMO.

I am the happy owner of an 82 Distillate! don't have a picture that does it justice though.
I have to play it standing as the shape is not condusive to sitting. Love the sound, wish I could buy a series I.... some day when I win the lottery....

My '89 Distillate. Like Spliffinriff's, the picture does not do this bass any justice. It is an amazing bass.
I've never had a problem playing it sitting down.

Here' my 2000 MK Std. When I ordered it I got side neck LED's as a free upgrade.

I picked up my first (and probably last) Alembic a couple of years ago. It's an Exploiter body shape with the Spoiler electronics. 32" scale length. Records great. Not a full-blown Spyder, but I like it just the same!

thanks, nonsqtr. yeah, THG did the knobs, pickupguards and the trussrod cover (all in paduak). I also had Michael Dolan take out the frets and put paduak fretlines. I have no idea how those EMGs got in there. One of these days I'll drive over to Alembic and get me some new pickups (they are ten minutes away).

It's no series I triple omega but it does the trick.

Nice choices with the two you have. Europa and Spyder are nice body styles. How many strings on each?

I just got a Mark King Deluxe 5 string with Cocobolo top, back and headstock, side LED's, omega cut out, tummy tuck and "K" style body. I love it! I really dig the Spyder and I'm thinking of having Alembic make an exploiter shape with the "v" head stock and Spyder electronics but in something like curly maple.
