Are there any Alembic owners here?

... but that's what you get with that @#$%! time difference! I saw the light as late as last January, but now I use Alembic basses exclusively. I own a 1988 Elan that I'm looking to sell and I have owned a 1980 Series I short scale.

But my pride and joy are a 1991 Edwin van Huik Signature model and my first Alembic, and really the spark that set the flame, a 1999 Orion. They will both become a family heirloom or will be buried with me:

Here is my Epic. I am working on getting a 20th anniv. model at the moment. I just installed a Filter and a 3 position Q switch on this bass. Wow !

I have a '93 Europa-4. It's one of my favorite basses. I've also had an Excel-4 & 5. I'd love to one day own a Series-II.

My '89 Distillate. Like Spliffinriff's, the picture does not do this bass any justice. It is an amazing bass.
I've never had a problem playing it sitting down.

Dude! A Distillate as pretty as mine! Mine was built for me in '90. Coco Bolo Top plus cool LEDs in the neck!

beautiful bass, i love the epic body. if i ever buy an alembic it'll probably be an epic 6. by the way what kind of strings are on that, those weird coated black ones? and if they are how are they.

this thing is amazing!!!
absolutly rips and even the singer notices how great it sounds!

my next bass will be an Alembic Balanced K unlined fretless!!!

I have an Orion custom 4. I love the bass, but the neck moves around on me DAILY...I don't even put the truss rod cover back on anymore. Anyone else experience such dramatic neck movement? My one piece flat sawn Pedulla neck hadly ever moves...just a comparison. Mine is the East Meets West Custom from August 2003 on the Alembic site.

Man that sucks! I think I'd be calling Susan about that. I played my Alembic at a gig on Halloween and put it in its case, left it in my garage until last night, took it to practice and it was still in tune.
