Good one! I'm not expecting "genuine Gibson or Epiphone" parts...it's a builder I want to put a TRC on of the proper shape (<see av). Saw a lot of left-hand TRCs advertised as right-handed. Wrong...

Maybe some kind hearted person here on TalkBass can send you a paper tracing of a truss rod cover and you should be able to cut one yourself from a piece of pickguard plastic.

You could find a good photo of the TRC you want online and print it out then use your copier to enlarge or decrease it to the correct size. Then you could get some blank plastic or whatever the thing is made of and make your own. Or find aTRC thats similar in shape or size and reshape it so its right.

Those covers are worth whatever somebody is willing to pay for one. It’s worth it to the buyer regardless of what anybody sane might think. No disrespect to serious collectors, of which I’m not, that have absolutely incredible instruments (ok a little envy showing here) but in my life, I have no use for a $5,000+ Bass and tend to think of it as spending $500 for a screwdriver, but at the end of the day, all you do with it is turn screws.
