BURN HIM! BURN THE HERETIC!!!I'm very easy going so I am really not obsessed with anything. I don't use pedals, have never given much thought to woods, bridges or nuts. I have certain brands that I like and have only modified one bass.

Have you ever been to The Gear Page? Some of those guys put most of us to shame.
Do these nickel plated pickguard screws sound different than these gold plated ones? BOOM! 30 page thread discussing sound differences in friggin' pickguard screws.
Are we obsessed, or crazy?
Por que no los dos?
do other musicians obsess over every little detail?
Is that the Eric Johnson I've heard can hear the difference between Duracell and Energizer in his (pedal or preamp, can't remember)?just chat gear with Eric Johnson for 5 minutes and you'll think you're the sanest person to ever walk the earth.
Gear is a big part of what we do so it make sense to discuss, consider, and criticize it. NBD
I mean, do other musicians obsess over every little detail? Bass, pickups, cords, pedals, preamps, amps, speakers, wood, strings, setup, tension, nuts, bridges...The list goes on and on.
A million little details, some huge, some insignificant. Yet I am guessing the average TB'er stresses over many of them. Granted, I feel that reproducing lower frequencies is much harder than say what a guitar player deals with (at least amp-wise).
