Are you a Goldilocks bass player?

You know what I am talking about. Do certain things drive you nuts that the average person would overlook? You notice a .5mm difference in string spacing? a .25lb difference in bass weight? or maybe you're the type of player who can tell somebody has touched their rig because everything has an exact spot? Maybe you're the type of guy who has to adjust his action once a week to make sure its perfect?

What needs to be "just right" for you?

Keep in mind i posted this in the humor section so try to keep it fun guys :)

Maybe, just maybe, this should be "The Princess And The Pea' thread... I like my stuff to be where it's supposed to be...I can defiantly tell when someone doesn't put my guitar back on its stand 'straight up'...leaves the strap laying all over the stage...ate greasy chicken from Popey's and failed to wash his hands...lol...all of those things are real, but I wouldn't let any of them get me into a twist, or force me to speak to the guy who screwed up. He just wouldn't be invited back up on stage to play with my stuff...and I LOVE when guys play my guitar...(it's a voyeuristic thing with me) :) If you're invited, don't mess with my settings, and don't you DARE try to 'retune' my guitar on the fly. Other than that, I'm cool. Like I say, I get a kick out of seeing other people drool all over my stuff... :)

I'm a Cro-Magnon bass player. I'll pick up anything and play it. I might notice that the action is high or it rattles or the intonation is off, but I'll do something or another in response. Yeah, I have a lot of hair growing on the backs of my hands, too.

Does he do anything to it like tuning it differently? or do you just get some sixth sense feeling that hes played it?
Sixth sense all the way;)
He doesn't really change anything, but I can always tell.
I think it's his penchant for bending string and his heavy touch (he's a guitar player).
I have spent so much of my life playing my main bass that even the slightest difference is noticeable to me.

I guess I'm a goldilocks/princess

I can tell if the intonation is off, but I'm not suuuuper picky about action or string height. String tension/stiffness of feel is a slightly different story. I definitely have a goldilocks zone where that's concerned.
