This is funny, i work at a ship yard. I just told somebody i disagreed with an idea, but we will do it if nessecary. The person stormed off. Does that qualify as sensitive....Shipyard and sensitivity do not work well together. I found it funny that this was the first thread to pop up. I am sensative when it comes to my lovely awesome wife and my dog and cats...

I have a friend that is so empathetic that she can be a real pain in the patchookie. She is always worried about everyone being treated fairly to the point where it can make it difficult to do anything.
It can be embarrassing when she decides she wants to protect me. At times I have had to politely tell her to back off.
I think the word I am looking for is codepent or being excessively preoccupied with the needs of others. It really is a form of control.
She is also very sensitive and easily hurt. No, it's not my wife thank God for that. My wife is very blunt and straight foward.
One of her favorite expressions is "What? You want a medal?"

Not really, although I can be easily annoyed. I may be an overly cynical person, but I find that a large number of "sensitive" people aren't really, but are putting on that face as a front.
I say this only about people I have met. I'm not referring to anyone I've conversed with on the Internet.
