Are you a Stingray H or HH owner or both

Just curious how many people own as stingray H or HH or both?

The HH is definitely more versatile, but I'll admit that I tend to ride on the bridge pickup most of the time anyway. Some of the single coil options on switch positions 2 and 4 sound really great, though. I think the worst sound on an HH Ray is both buckers full on. It's REALLY scooped and kinda the polar opposite of what a Ray is all about.

I really wanted to get into the HH but never could. It came along too late for me. I already had an L2000 and never found the HH to be as good. Kind of ironic . The single H is my go to. Love it above all others.

I’ve yet to find an HH Ray in the bridge position that sounds as good as a single H. They always sound more dense/dark/etc. As such, single H for me for both my 4 and 5.

I don’t know how the HH sounds. Owners absolutely love them, so they must sound good.

I just have only three bass tones I’m after. Jazz, Precision, Stingray H. Never saw the point of buying any other configuration

(I could definitely stand having another Alembic Series Two, but that’s another post… )

I have two HH Specials. I used to have both (H and HH), but liked the HH's so much that I no longer have the H. But I still get to play the H if I want to because one of my very best friends now has the H...

HH for the win. I only sold mine to get a H with the 2 band EQ.

I had a StingRay Special with an HH first. Loved the bass, but ended up selling it for one reason or another. I picked up another Special, but this time just a single H. Played great. Unfortunately, it became a victim of needing to downsize all of my gear before my family moved a couple of years ago.

I picked up a 1993 StingRay H after the move when I joined another band here. I thought that was the best sounding bass of the three.

It's the best MusicMan pickups config in my opinion.

2006 HH here bought last year to scratch the itch caused by stupidly selling a 1996 H many years ago. Great bass but I tend to exclusively use the bridge pickup with the switch in position 2. I still want that H back though.

Had both, sold both. A 4 string 1997 H bought new and sold this year. A 5 string 2020 HH sold 2022.

Just didn't fit for what I'm doing these days, so I re-homed them to a better place.

I wish they'd bring back HS for the other models. I'm not a fan of neck humbuckers generally, and the HS gives the right amount of flexibility with simpler controls and more room but the neck. I know Sire has an HS model now, but it uses the standard preamp and I doubt it has "the sound".

I have owned both a SR5 H and HH. The neck pup on the HH got in my way. I did play a SR5 HS once and liked it a bunch. That should have been the one I bought.

HH for me, that all on thickness and neck pickup does it for me. I've had an H (albeit a DarkRay) and every time available sounded great but I missed the neck pickup and double pickup tones too much.

Holding my breath that some day they'll give us a DarkRay HH and I'll can have my one and done Ray
