Wasn't there a movie the other year? "Finding Emo", I think it was called. It implies that the "youth is out there", if I remember correctly.
And by the way, emo kids are a cut above the rest...

Emo's are normal people following a ridiculous trend. At my High School there were no emo's, the suddenly it seemed like 80% of the school had turned emo, and now everyone is back to normal and emo's get mocked. 
Thank god its fading away now. I don't see many around.

As it currently exists, it's just a trend of posers, entirely manufactured....

Become for sure. I have seen kids who were perfectly fine kids, then they turn emo, then when they realized their favorite bands hated them, they turned back.
Goth is just a manufactured trend too.
"Emo" was around back in the 80s, but nothing remotely like it is today.
And it really is goth related:
Black hair : Check
Black Eyeliner : Check
Black clothing : Check
**** music : Check
Silly bandnames : Check
Self Harming : Check
Testosterone level : N/A

On a slightly unrelated note, goth chicks are way hotter than emo chicks IMHO.
Hmm, in my studies there are slightly more (proportionally) fat goth chicks. But they do tend to have longer hair. Occasional teeth modifications arent nice tho.
I've got nothing against goths. I know a few that are quite mature. They have the image but not the whole hate and self mutilation thing. Where as almost every emo I have met has been a complete moron. Always immature, always fake.

I dunno, I prefer good looking girls in general. I just couldn't take a girl seriously who dresses like a clown, wears horrible makeup and has stupid looking hair.
I'm not saying there aren't good looking girls who are Emo, but if they looked normal they would probably be even hotter.
I couldn't tell an Emo person if I bumped into one. I'm rather happy about it too
