Coming from a Browns fan? You are a die hard! And a masochist.Sports is the most important thing in the world. What's the matter with you people?
498 of those posts in each thread are probably people trolling, just to see how long before the true believers get all bent.855 posts of arguing about Fender decals on non-Fenders: Fender Decals On Non-Fender Basses
759 posts on "Why is the P bass still the best?" Why is P-Bass still the best?
579 posts on "Explain me the Fender is God thing": Explain me the 'Fender is God' thing
577 posts on "If you have a Squier, do you have a Fender?": If you have a Squier do you have a Fender?
I could go on, but you get the point. Lots of pointless discussions out there.

Man, I've been there too. Working at an airport, there's not many quiet areas save the bathroom, and I'm not staying in there for an hour.I get the OP's irritation over being a captive audience and having no choice but to listen to an inane, repetitive argument, but if anyone thinks it's just a sports thing; well, try enjoying a quiet lunch and reading a book in a comfortable break room while people are going on and on about "reality" TV shows!
Sitting at work and my coworkers have been arguing sports for 45 minutes.
How the #&@% is this possible??? I swear the same points (no pun intended) have been made ten times now.
Football is something I never watch. But I have family in Florida and my own state doesn't participate in NFL, so I root for the Miami Dolphins. But start talking the team down, I'll say, yeah they kinda suck. Then I leave it there.I don't follow sports at all. The line I use quite often is "yes I don't watch sports, and I am straight".
With that said I see people arguing this and that and I find it funny, but I find it even funnier when people say "WE WON WE WON WE WON" to which I say "You didn't win crap, the team did".
However, I knew just enough to put a Mets person his place. I am a Yankee fan due to something in my childhood; no I don't watch baseball and etc. but if you asked what my time would be it's the Yankees. There was this guy who tried to argue Mets is a better team and etc. My reply, when is the last time they won the World Series? Another question, HOW MANY times did the Yankees win the World Series? He kept trying to argue and eventually stopped for in the end, winning is what wins.
