Arguing over sports

Sitting at work and my coworkers have been arguing sports for 45 minutes.

How the #&@% is this possible??? I swear the same points (no pun intended) have been made ten times now.

And i love how the fans say 'we', as in "we won this or that game." When in reality all they did was drink overpriced beer and yell in the stands, or more likely in their favorite chair yelling at the TV

The same way you clowns will stretch out a thread around here for pages and pages over weeks arguing about the type of wood a bass is made from or the color of the fretboard.

Yeah, sports not my thing at all. Skateboard but hardly an argue team kinda thing. I used to work across the river in Kentucky. Every morning they'd have a hour + round table on how great Kentucky basketball was. Then at lunch it would continue again.

The things we talk about are educational. Musicians can actually improve after a thread conversation. People read things here that can start careers and make people money. I know I've learned and made some money off TB info.

The sports banter just gets people angry and punched out. But, as a coworker put it, it's better than everyone just staring at their phones.

I know what you mean, but I've seen the same stuff here. I'm not a sports nut though. Someone mentions a team or recent game and the words instantly turn into 'wah wah wah' like the old Peanuts cartoons when adults are speaking, lol.

How is this any different than TB??

Talking about bass, the merits of cats vs dogs, your favorite luncheon meat. Is much more refined and cultured than Neanderthal sports talk.

I don't enjoy playing with balls very much, myself. Why would I want to watch a bunch of other
guys play with balls?

Zero interest in sports here, but watching my co workers argue over it is priceless.

Biggest rivalry in Western NY is the Buffalo Bills vs the Miami Dolphins..... and wouldn't you know I have a die hard fan of each team in the shop with me. They have nearly come to blows over it. And the Bills fan was also a die hard Earnhardt fan, he went toe to toe with the Mark Martin fan that used to work with us.....

Whenever people have a passion for things there will be arguments.
They probably look at you "wasting" your time/money on music gear and think that's pointless (even though we all know it's not).

This would be like arguing about which bass is better than another even though you don't own one (they don't/haven't/won't ever play professionally?), only watch/listen to someone else play it and read online reviews about its specs. Hilarious!

I grew up in Buffalo, but have lived in Detroit the past 20+ years. When people ask me who my favorite football team is I typically say the Detroit Lions are my 3rd favorite. The Buffalo Bills are my 2nd favorite. My favorite is whoever is playing the Miami Dolphins.

I'm with you. I was born without a sports gene. Nothing could interest me less.
Fitness on the other hand made sense to me. I persued that as a young man.
Watching other people especially adults chasing balls around didn't seem like a meaningful use of time much less arguments or even fights.

All I can say is that this is the year that the Seattle Mariners win the World Series. And, I'll spend at least six months arguing with anybody who disagrees. Then I'll give up and disagree with myself. So, there you have it. Oh, one other thing. We wuz robbed! That's all there is, so no arguments necessary.
