I really wish I could report you for that, but I digress. Do not mock someone in their death, especially someone like Cliff, by all accounts a wonderful human being and amazing musicican.

As per the topic, I would only play $5000 if Cliff signed it in blood, and injected it with his talent.

Anyone notice the pic of him using his Alembic at the bottom of the listing? Nice job, E-bay! :p

Yes, because that is completely different.

Exaggerating something totally survivable (unless he had some sort of blood disease, which I'm doubting) to make point and then flat out mocking Cliff in his death are EXTREMELY different.

Is Cliff getting hacked about this? Really, guys. I'm a fan and all, but jeez. People die, and then people make off color jokes. My brother and I spoke similarly about my own grandmother the night before her funeral. She didn't mind.

I figure my P bass is worth apx. $800. If I take a video and a picture of Rob playing my bass ....errrrrrr I dont think that makes it worth anything extra. If he signed it....maybe another hundred to couple hundred depending on how big of a fan the buyer is. No slight to Rob ofcourse, hes a great player.

Apparently Robert Trujillo bought one of the Japanese versions, the SB-1000RI, and played the Korean made SB-CB for a couple minutes in the seller's store. I still don't know how that justifies selling it for $5000, though! Even if Trujillo owned it, signed it, recorded with it, and played with it on tour, $5k is probably a stretch. Although on eBay recently, there was an SB-1000RI owned by John Taylor of Duran Duran that DID sell for over $5k so who knows. However, I never saw a picture of him playing it (it was red, he usually played that natural finished SB-1000 in a few years ago) so it was probably more of a backup bass if anything.

I sent the seller a message asking him if the use of Cliff Burton's name has been approved buy the Burton family or whoever controls his estate and he said no, but it is a "replica of Cliff's Aria bass". I then flagged him for inappropriate use of celebrity names.
