It has what look like Alembic humbuckers, but they appear to be stamped "Aria Pro II" :hmm:!?

The three control knob layout doesn't look familiar either :eyebrow:!

It's advertised as an "SB-1000", but that's all I know.

Any info welcome :)!

Right away, my thoughts were: that's an SB1000 for sure....awesome bass!

I may be wrong, hope I'm not.

I bought this one on the German Ebay, it was advertised as late 80's, could be Japanese? Seems pretty high-end to me, though the pup's seem to be passive.

I couldn't find any additional information... could someone help me out?

Yes and it's probably one of the nicest Integra's Ive ever seen, never seen a neck like that on any others, the II on the headsock is most likely from Aria Pro "II"

The logo on the body looks original, should have a catch phase below it, can't off hand remember what it says.

My buddy has a green one( no where near as sweet), very nice bass, somewhat "clacky" though, with the right amp / setup, it rocks!





AHHHH, and I see CUSTOM, on the truss rod cover....very interesting!!!! (further investigation is due)

I've always used this site as a guide to the SB series, they have a lot of documentation straight from the catalogs:

Although unfortunately nothing looks quite like that one :confused: At least we know what it isn't, the SB-1000.
I've just never seen one with a knob/jack configuration like that one.

No, me neither! Also the flat-topped pickups with the logos are "unique", to my knowledge and it may be my eyesight :eyebrow:, but the dot markers look too small to me as well :hmm:.

Perhaps they were made slightly differently for the home market!?

Probably a silly question, but did Aria had a Customshop? Someone over here in the Netherlands suggested that this could be a one off...
The II logo on the headstock seems to be the InTegra logo rather than the 2 in Aria pro2.
Anyway, the bass will be here on Friday hopefully, so I can investigate in person. My gutt-feeling tells me is quite a catch.

The one above is a SB 1000 2nd series (from the 90's), like mine. Mine ain't that glossy though.

The bass is deliverable in all Europe. I don't mind sending it to the US (that's where I got it from after all) but shipping will be more expensive.

Presumabley, it wasn't built in Japan :confused:? I think that the Matsumoko factory was destroyed in about 1985 :hmm:?

Either way, there's some nice looking timber on that one :)!

They were built in Japan. AFAIK they were done in house by Aria, in the customshop. Just like the new high end SB's. They made a 5 string version of that too. Very rare.
