Shhhh Let 'em keep buying Fenders.
Well here's a shameless speed slap solo played on my mate's Aria SB-R80 (I think). Fab bass, sounds crap with the stock PUs but plays like a dream. I'm tempted to buy it off him and mutilate it in every sense.
I bought this SB1000 new in 1983. Awesome sounding bass. It has a tone that is unique to the older SB1000 series.
Do you have the glued on neck....?
I have an SB600 in here on repair, and the sustain (even unplugged) is simply insane!!!...........goes on forever!
Amp'd it's like an Organ foot pedal for cryin' out loud!
I test drove about 50 basses (mostly Fenders) before buying my Aria Pro II, Magna Series MAB 20/5 - 5 String
1991
She's been played on Albums, Jingles, Soundtracks and then some....
What intrigued me was the angled J Pickups, any of you out there have these?

It makes me cry. I had a matching pair SB Elite II basses. I had one made fretless. One day I decided there were getting too heavy. Now I kick myself everytime I see an Aria thread or an SB on eBay.
