Well here's a shameless speed slap solo played on my mate's Aria SB-R80 (I think). Fab bass, sounds crap with the stock PUs but plays like a dream. I'm tempted to buy it off him and mutilate it in every sense.

I have an SB600 in here on repair, and the sustain (even unplugged) is simply insane!!!...........goes on forever!

No, the SB1000 is a neck-though with active electronics. The thing has a haunting tone that is hard to describe.
Yours is sweet man, great color.

It makes me cry. I had a matching pair SB Elite II basses. I had one made fretless. One day I decided there were getting too heavy. Now I kick myself everytime I see an Aria thread or an SB on eBay.

Yes ...the SB600 I just fixed up, is VERY heavy!!!

There it is tasteful sticker and all. It has strat knobs on it at the moment which is pretty ugly but more functional than those boxwood ones that were crazy.

I had a CS-380 back around 1980 or so. Looked and felt kind of cheap but best playing bass I've ever had. Nice tone, too.

My 1980 fretless SB 700 (currently awaiting restoration):

Originally came with chromed humbuckers.
When the originals finally crapped out I replaced them with EMG Selects and all new pots and such.
The head has been snapped off at least 3 times and epoxied back on.
Presently, rebroke the head (on purpose) and am in the process of realigning it and trying to blend in the break for the minimal visual eyesore.
Only 2 things of any value that I can say about this piece.
1) It's got the most comfortable neck I've ever whitnessed.
2) It sounds awsome!
Thus the reason it's staying in my barn like it has for about 30 yrs. or so.
(wondering, is it a relic, beater, or piece of crap to others?)

This is where the lawsuit with Fender came from (really wasn't the Pro like so many think);
