Anyone on here owned one? If so, how do they sound? Oh and another thing, how does the neck pickup sound? Is it different to a J because of how it slants or is it pretty much the same?
I have one. I picked it up on Ebay for $160.00. I was pleasantly surprised at some aspects. The bass arrived setup well with a medium action. Fretwork was very impressive. Nice clean ends and well leveled. Neck was nice and tight in the pocket. The finish was well done although it seems a bit thick. Pickups are indeed Jazz style. They are not the greatest quality and sounded a bit muffled. Great for dub actually. I think you might hear a difference with a better quality pickup mounted at a slant. Kind of hard to tell with the stock pickups. I love the Mosrite vibe and that it is 34" scale. I am turning mine into a project bass. Gonna put Chi-sonic pickups on it. Better pots and a new nut and bridge. Basically just keeping the neck and body. Everything else will be changed. Going to refin it that Mosrite metallic blue. If I were to keep it stock I would still change the pickups and the plastic nut. Pickups are true jazz style in that the neck pickup is slightly shorter than the bridge pickup. That means you can choose froma vast array of replacements. Of course then I would not be keeping it stock.Haha
