I thought it was the Constitution that provides for that freedom?
No, the Constitution only limits government powers, it provides no freedoms. In fact it specifically recognizes that those freedoms exist wiht our without government recognition.

Soldiers and medics in the past seem to have been able to do their job without having to shoot pigs.
is it wrong that this still looks delicious to me?
the only thing wrong about that is that I don't have an invitation. Is it wrong that it just makes me think of my upcoming pig roast?
Cops?? Hmmm... how about the guys that are hanging around painting on public walls while everyone else is sleeping... or just round up all the gangbangers in L.A. and Orange County, and turn all of THEM over to the U.S. Army for 'testing'.. But cops? No..Where do they find cops that are willing to be shot?![]()

Because this is being used for medics, not doctors. Meaning, these are the kids that are patching soldiers up often while people are still shooting at them. The added level of stress alone makes the job nearly impossible. By doing this type of training, it takes one component of stressor (that of self-preservation) out of the equation.
And soldiers died of combat wounds at levels FAR higher than they do today.
Having been in the Army, I feel qualified to speak to how the Army trains. I'm confident that before shooting the pig, hours of classwork, followed by hours of simulated practice are taught. Think of the pig as the 'final exam' and you've got an idea of how training for the military works.
The only thing new here is the Army's admission that they're actually using the pigs for training. Otherwise, this is very old news.
People want a BLT, but they don't want to see the slaughter. People want soldiers sent into combat adequately training, but they don't want to face what that really entails....

Thanks Pac...man, heavy stuff no matter where you sit on this!
People want the government to know when terrorist attacks are coming so the government can stop them, but they don't want.....![]()
...to give us the tools to do it. You're preaching to the choir there, buddy.
Hey Jon,
Had a great gig today outside San Fernando Cathedral with some monster players for World Youth Day. SOP for you, but a real treat for me to play out on the River Walk with a pro backline and an appreciative crowd. Good times.![]()
hey guys the army should shoot [group of people I don't like] am I right or what?
So true..
It kind of makes me wonder what the Russians or Chinese must do that we'll never hear about.
They're probably using live pigs to train their medics.
