Actually Greenboy's new cabs for 12's and 15's are like that.
What I can do with the 88's---I can rig them with a switch that changes it from 4 to 16 ohms. That way if you're playing one by itself---4 ohms. But when you combine the two at 16 ohms you get 8 ohms. An amp that delivers at least 300 watts into 8 would be fine.
Any Markbass lovers out there tried this cab with one of those heads?
Yes I use a markbass 800 tube with a crazy 88 cabinet- sounds great. Looking to get another 88 in a month.
good luck.
I have a Crazy8 and a Crazy 88, and wouldn't mind having two Crazy88s. They're great cabs! The only thing I don't like about 'em is that so few bass heads can drive a pair; I'd like to try some of the new heads, like the Tecamp Puma and Aguilar TH500, but most of them can't accommodate a 2-Ohm load.![]()
The F112 goes louder than one 88 but not as loud as two 88's.
Tonally I think that the 88 is more nuetral and more hifi although the f112 is less aggressive in the mids than previous Greenboy cabs.

What I love doing with 2 88's is have one horizontal on the ground and the other on top in the vertical position. Great floor coupling with the horizontal one and the vertical one puts the top 8 at about 30"---the dispersion on the 8's is so good that you can REALLY hear yourself.
I prefer the 88's for upright and if you use a fdeck HPF they work great for electric, too.
Mike, years ago there was a thread which stated it was impossible to make cabinets go from 8 to 4 ohms. The cabinet was accugroove. You probably remember on the threads here. They had a switch on there earlier models, many said it can't be done so they took it out. This was a serious problem that stayed with them. Can you please comment. When you said "What I can do with the 88's---I can rig them with a switch that changes it from 4 to 16 ohms." It brought memories, that made me truly sympathize and at times empathize with these guys which I am sure had a major cause on there problems. Overall, I think they made a very good cabinet with the Jr. I don't want to make a big deal of it. Just how can it be done?

Series cable!
Out of curiosity, what's the change in SPL going from 4 drivers wired in parallel (2-Ohms), to 4 drivers wired in series (32-Ohms)?
Not sure, but in the case of two C88's, youd be at only 8 ohms with a series wiring, as i understand.
Maybe there should be a Crazy6x8 in the works. The magic setup for an impedance switch would be six drivers, of 6 Ohms each. Wired one way it would be 6x3/2 = 9 Ohms -- close enough to 8 for all practical purposes. The other way, 6x2/3 = 4 Ohms.
