No such thing as the best tone for deathcore. Learn how every knob on the head works and learn how to adjust them to get the tone you want. A knob setting in one room will sound like crap in another room. Room acoustics will mess with you EVERYWHERE you play.

Plug your bass in (don't boost the EQ on the bass, keep it at the "no boost" setting) Put all the knobs at the neutral position and play your bass while adjusting one knob at a time, you will quickly learn what each knob does and will be on the path to getting the tone you want WHENEVER you want.
