Ashdown or Mesa ........Combo

I've been looking at bass amps...........AGAIN! And I want a change!

I currently own an Ampeg B100R, it's a good amp but I'm ready for something different. I'm thinking either:

1) Ashdown ABM 500 2x10 combo

2) Mesa Boogie Walkabout Scout 1x12 combo

I'm just kinda curious what you guys/gals think about these, and what you would go for? I'm not playing with anyone currently so I want something that's pretty versitile. I'm playing on a Spector Euro 4. (But saving for a Ric!) So I'll have both soon............... hopefully.

Thanks

Those are the same two that I came down to and chose the Mesa. The Ashdown 2x10, though not unmanageable is fairly big and heavy. If easy portability is important the mesa is a no brainer. The option of removing the walkabout head from the cabinet is also huge. They both sound great, both do the clean and tubey thing very well so pick yer flavor on that. Cost is about the same. You're gonna have good tone either way...

First: I'm extreeeeeemely particular about my gear.
Second, the Mesa Walkabout Scout is a baaaad mutha. Small, light, great phat delicious tone, mega flexible para eq, unreal loud-size withstanding.
Pair it with a second cab, or take 45 seconds to pull the head and pair it with a bigger cab of your choice.

Mesa wins this one, hands down.

+1. Just got one about 2 weeks ago. This little guy is a ''bad boy''!

The ABM 500 2x10 combo is the same price as the Mesa if you buy new. $1200 dollars. (unless you guys are seeing something online that I am not)You can get B-Stock from 750 bucks on the Ashdown online..and I have seen 12" walkabouts go for 600-700 used, even on this board. I'm not seeing the big price difference.
