What guage B is good for a 34" scale 5 string Jazz? Any brand with higher tension than most?

string tension is going to be most directly related to string diameter, given the same string composition. i like .135's on my basses - good tight tone and lasts a while. i used to use dean markley sr2000's and i was happy with em except that i'd get too many that were dead or less-than-new sounding when i'd get my order (usually got 10-18 sets at a time direct from markley). lately i've been using sit's and am very happy with em, except for the exposed core. i like tapers down to the last winding instead of exposed core. they have too many weird dissonances ime, especially on the biggest diameter strings like the low b, f# and c#.

Sweet, Cheers, I'll look into them!:)

I have only one question for Mr. John Turner.

Why:

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

red shirt : since i was in a prog band playing at a prog festival, it was appropriate, although i wore it also as a kind of self-parody.

doubleneck 7 string : to have the availability of both fretted and fretless necks on the same instrument, and the range of both a guitar, a bass, and even some extra lower notes for good measure all at the same time.

mohawk : it's to hide my male inverse pattern baldness.

Where are you at with Lou Diamond Phillips' contribution to Americana, especially with regard to his pivotal role in the blockbuster hits Young Guns I and Young Guns II? In my opinion, they couldn't build a bronze statue tall enough to capture his impact, but I'd appreciate it if the French would get right on that.

"la" and "bamba". la bamba baby, la bamba. :bassist:

Hypothetically, let's suppose Kirk Hammet replaced Ron McWhatever on bass for Metallica. By a freak coincidence, Cliff Burton's guitar capability, already on the rise, made him good enough to take over rhythm duties for Hetfield, who soon realizes he's a better lead than Mustaine, who then switches to lead vocals. Does Metallica still end up producing a mutli-album turd streak through the 1990's to today beginning with the black album?

whos genius idea was it to make the hour hand smaller then the minute hand??

this really grinds my freakin gears, i mean, if i was in charge of this phenomena they would be the same size and of course the minute hand would be a bass player waving his bass over his head and chasing a guitarist around on stage....the bass would clearly be a Fender Jazz while the guitar player would be partly on fire and as each passing hour passed he would become more engulfed in flames.

this is of course for our viewing pleasure, i say this because i can think of way to many times when i pass by a clock, look up, i get the time, but i find myself highly disappointed due to the lack of a show/dinner theater type atmosphere. "when bass players attack"
