Ebony according to some. The ultimate tone wood. Once you have played that, maple doesnt cut it anymore.

I just saved a ton of money on my car insurance...

The ebony works best on 35" scale while maple is only found on the short scale gear.I've never seen maple cut ebony. Has it evolved into a predatory tree? Or has ebony just evolved tougher bark armor?
