Atypical Talkbass...

Not a word on here about banana stickers. I collect the cool ones.
A woman I eat lunch with at work puts them on my lunch box. I can take a picture later and show ya, but I just ate 4 slices of pizza plus half a spinach calzone and cant get off my couch right now.

'Non-specific' or, less non-specifically, 'non-gonococcal,' are akin to atypical and yet, not so uncommon as you might think. But seldom mentioned — you just have to know where to look. Protect yourself regardless, from the unusual suspects.

A dwarf bass player is a ukulele player. Marbles is gambling. Gambling's out. Any mention of deep sea diving and the ban-hammer comes down, sure as eggs — even with the more refined scuba diving, you still run the risk. Pleasure comes at a cost.

Atopical
Talkbass, on the other hand, can be very irritating — on any hand, really, and elsewhere, woe betide. On that count, you may be banned and admitted in the very same action — best avoided, at all costs. Just scratching the surface there. Some people simply can't help themselves. Time now for some soothing, typical, topical unguent — Talkbaste — and a good lie down

Just by running a search, I have discovered that such esoteric topics as TS Eliot, fly fishing, nihilism, and neuroplasticity have all been referenced on TB. However, the intricacies of the asymmetry of monetary policy and Godel's incompleteness theorems have not. Tut tut!

I've also noticed that there has never been a thread entitled: "The P-bass - Leo's Biggest Mistake?"

I did that for about ten years when the kids were younger. I've always been a defenseman. They're the bass players of the hockey team. Goalie's the drummer, of course. Forwards are all guitar players, noodling all over the ice. Occasionally you get a jazz man like Gretzky who stands out blowing his Charlie-Parker-like runs, or a trumpeter like Lemieux, but mostly forwards are guitar bangers. I've always appreciated creative puck-moving d-men who were like Jaco (Letang), but I'm more of a stay at home (deep in the groove) shut-down kind of guy.

I have no idea what this means
not being from a hockey part of the globe,
but it sounds sooo cool. I love it! Surely there is a blog in that.
