I've hesitated to comment on this but figured since we're currently in the realm of studio monitors - what the heck ...
...Pairing the AI Clarus with the TC112 has been a heavenly experience. With some EQ tweaking I was able to achieve the same smooth vibe as the STM-900 but with an up-level in clarity. And being able to add a hint of chorus or reverb in the second channel, on top of a clean first channel, is pretty cool. Verdict: I sold the STM-900.
Lastly, the stealthy, mil-spec appearance of the two is perfect, IMHO
Oh, dear. I really wish you hadn't posted this. I had been toying with the idea of getting a late-model Clarus before I bought my Streamliner. I love the SL for the most part, but I do have to run fairly extreme EQ settings to get "my" tone out of it, and I still occasionally wish for even a little more clarity.
I had been hoping that the Streamliner/Thunder Child pairing would be an end to GAS for me, but I'm still waiting for my TC, and yet it seems that the old "what if" gland is still functioning...
