AudioKinesis Cabs Part VI...

what's after being in your golden years? i'm pretty sure it's not platinum; could be titanium if a hip replacement is in order. right now, feels like tin.
Well, the TC118 had a great, great show last night.
We played a show at a place we've played several times before. It's a popular joint - somewhat large place, quite a few pool tables and dart boards. If you imagine the tetris piece that is kind of sideways Z shaped, that's the general shape of this place. It's pretty large - about 300-325 people fit in there (fire code allows 300). Before soundcheck, the FOH guy remembered the last time we were there and said my TC118 did as good of a job as his subs/mids in his PA. We got to talking and felt that maybe we'd pull the bass out of PA entirely - lighten the load on it a bit. I gave the TC118 a moderate amount of juice from my QSC poweramp, and wrapped up soundcheck. Played the show with it like that and had a ton of fun.
After the show, while we were breaking down the soundguy came up to me and said that the TC118 did indeed carry the entire room. He walked around and felt the mix was very good, maybe even a tad too much bass guitar (but he's also a bassist, so he was enjoying it). Complimented me on my tone and playing, then asked about where he can get my cab
. He is going to check things out and see about getting one or two for his backline, and also for his rental company. Hopefully that pans out... then I can carry one less piece when I play that particular place again, and more bass players can get introduced to Duke's creations.

I did my 4th of July shows with my 2 new AK H1203's and was blown away with the volume and thump I was able to achieve with my GK MB500 and the 2 H1203's. They sounded excellent anywhere I was on stage. There was well defined highs and mids, and I attribute that to the 3" speaker and specially designed ports by Duke. The bottom end was handled very well by the two 12" 500 watt speakers. I had used the MB500 with another pair of speakers I borrowed and I had to crank the volume to 75% to get the volume I needed while the H1203's were much louder at less than 50%.
The H1203's sounded well defined and every note produced was even and LOUD. Towards the end when we got louder and I turned up the H1203's, they didn't even break a sweat. There was NEVER a hint they were struggling, and as a matter of fact, the louder I pushed them, the SWEETER they sounded!
Way to go, @DukeLeJeune ! I am going to have to figure out what new toys I want for Christmas from AK.
What a treat to deal with such high end equipment!

Friendly thought for you. Go to your signature page and list it there, where you have "I'm runnin' out of spaces" and you can even add a link to your signature to the page where you're selling your cab, which I assume is here on TB?

Oh my, yes. The Hathor series cabs also have great off-axis dispersion. Fantastic, really.
Did you ever audition the 1544, and, if so, how would you compare it with the 1505 ?
