Fees and logistics? Like import duty? Pfft. There wouldn't be any logistics or fees to get in the way... you are travelling with your bass that you just recently purchased. If you should happen to need money and sell the bass to someone while you are here...well...i think you see what I'm saying ;)

This country could use more well priced Stingrays and Fenders.

Sydney is a very expensive & fashionable place - I've always been amazed how many guys wear pink over there..........
Melbourne is the sporting centre of Australia - when you travel over there you'd better side with an Aussie Rules team - JUST NOT COLLINGWOOD!!!!! (That West Coast is preeeettttty good tho:smug: )
Canberras' nice - but I found it too cold - and a little boring, but the beer's cheap!
Adelaide is a nice town - home of Cooper's beer!
Hobart - accomadation is cheap and the place is very pretty - but you'll need that winter clothing.
I love Perth - the most remote city of over 1,000,000 people on the face of the planet, the city with more sunny days than anywhere else globally - and the 2nd windiest in the world too. Kinda wierd stats but anyway.....what else can I say?

I've found Darwin like a magnet, having visited a number of times I find myself drawn back to it's brutal humidity and laidback lifestyle. It's seems quite different to the rest of Australia.

Having grown up in Adelaide I'd recommend it if you want somewhere with a little less action (many bands/acts seem to fly over us on the way to Perth or Melbourne). Ben Folds used to live here. (still does?)

why all this focus on the capitols?..i mean, newcastle, cmon, sure its not the best place in aus, great music scene though....although covers are big, some funky dancy stuff is real popular and the jazz scene is pretty big too...great beaches..good women..great fishing...some pretty good music stores:D

but im a country boy....grew up in a town with a population of 43....



bring over a KSD 60's four string and you got a buyer :p

Whoa!
I grew up in Lienster (WA - out from Kalgoorlie), before the mine opened - you too??!?!

One thing to bear in mind when travelling in OZ, especially over here in the west - is that many of the 'small towns' on the map - like Overlander and Payne's Find for example - are really only a petrol station/truck stop. If it's not on the map - there's simply nothing there..............

Definately come to australia but don't go to either Tassie or Adelaide. Take my advice on that one. but i reckon the best way to go is to come down to Victoria and stay in Melbourne. Melbourne is like the music central and it's great.;)

the only downside is that Melborne is known for having 4 seasons in 1 day.:cool:
but i wouldn't recommend goin down to Western Australia unless your'e into the countryside. Its not that bad though down there and i used to live there but i still recommend Melbourne. like i said. it has a great music scene here. N.S.W aint bad but i'm a melbourner so yeah.;)

+1 if your ever driving through Williams on the way to Albany go to the first truck stop on the way thru, good eats indeed.....

I've personally been to Sydney, Melb and Brisbane and they are great places to visit but i'd NEVER live there.... Perth is so much more laid back, whenever I go over east I feel like I'm in the states or somethin, everyone is so..... involved....
