the christcore/crabcore genre is growing trite and pathetic. i started a thread chastising attack attack a few weeks ago. fairly entertaining to watch people tear into them.
in hip hop.. well.. who cares? i dont listen to it on the regular. jay z declared it dead. it wont last another year.
Nah... Autotune is here to stay, or at least some other form of it. The standards for recording are so high that it'll always be used to fix slightly off key singing and instrument performances. Some producers even tune drums with Autotune. I suggest either embracing the technology, 'cause it's not going anywhere. Dismissing it only gives the rest of the musical world more ability to pass you by.It will end when marketable singers start learning to sing, or vice versa, when competent singers begin to look good/market well.
hardly. MTV was far worse. All of the sudden, good looks became even more important in general then actual talent. Now, they had to produce slick videos, which is one more thing to detract from actual music.autotune is quite possibly the worst thing to happen to music..

I have EVO and find it has the best algorithms you can get. If used tastefully you can seamlessly correct pitch with minimal artifacts but I agree, if it's overused to the point where you hear the note bumps, it sucks. I occasionally use autotune EVO on my Saturn 67 Bass, (which I love BTW), to lock in intonation when I play up the neck a bit. It takes some punch out at times on a big stretch. You have to use it carefully. I have been a recording engineer for 40 years now and just got on to this forum. Hope this helps.
Thanks

That is good use of it, hip hop and rap artists don't have talent so they use it so they don't sound like ****.![]()
