why would you do that ?! playing in 3 is 25% more difficult than playing in 4... if you want to make it easier, you can make each measure of the tune into 2 measures of 3, essentially converting it to 6/4, which would be 50% easier.

"Summertime" is kind of fun to do in 3. There's also a nice tune that nobody plays called "Three Flowers" (McCoy Tyner, maybe?). Also "I'm All Smiles." Good luck.

We accidentally learned "Lover" in 4. After hearing it for the first time done in 3 accompanying Steve Martin's Great Flydini, we decided to learn it that way too, so now we play it both ways in a set. But we don't try to also do the Flydini routine.

Try singing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game", but start with the second word on the first note. You'll run out of words right before the end, ending with the 7th note in the major scale in the melody (B in C major) over the V7 chord (G7 in C major).

As far as the walking is concerned, since the chord progression is a cycle of fourths, one could (but that would be musically quite dull) just play the Bb/Gm scale up continuously (with small adjustment on D7b9)...
