Apparently it has a 30.31" scale length, so I think any strings that are labeled Short Scale will be fine.

Apparently it has a 30.31" scale length, so I think any strings that are labeled Short Scale will be fine.
I don't play with flat-wound strings, so I'm not the right person to ask. That said, you will find many suggestions about this by doing a search.
I don’t want them too loose. Don’t have any experience with strings tbh. I don’t want them super stiff either. I kinda want a Paul McCartney kinda tone. I think Bruce Foxton uses flats too but not that sure.
Ok,that brings up a couple of possibilities, McCartney has used both Pyramid Gold and Labella, Pyramids short scale flats are not true short scale as they are designed for bridges that use a tailpiece so are more like medium scale, I also found Pyramids a little too stiff for me, Labella are good for old school flatwound tone, when I used them I went with the extra light 760fx 96-39 gauge though the 760fl 104-43 gauge are very popular however I found the 104-43 too stiff, GHS short scale are also good for an old school Macca kind of tone, they are very slightly longer winding length (32.75" rather than the usual 32.00") so you may get the E wrapping around the tuner post but they are flexible enough that it shouldn't matter. I like very light tension strings so bare that in mind when reading the above

The two GHS flats both get a lot of love in the Short Scale Club. I've never used either for short scale but really like the Precision Flats.
Looks like standard short scale (30") strings should work. I really like the GHS Precision Flats that I put on my Gretsch G2220.
Sfarzo short scale strings are 32" from ball end to taper. All three series have the following gauges:

Thank goodness for this thread! I’m preparing to buy my first short scale, a Fender Player Mustang, and I just wanted to see if my bases are covered, string-wise.
I’m looking at the GHS Boomers 50-107 because I do want a relatively high tension. I also saw that Stringjoy can offer a 50-105 or 55-110 set and I think that’s awesome.
Anybody here who’s tried [roundwound] string sets that are thicker than 45-105?

For the Macca tone I would say GHS Flats are a good bet, Pyramid Gold will get that tone also but they are a little stiffer, not flats and not 95-40 but Rotosound Trubass nail the later McCartney tone but you have to be able to deal with their peculiarites (huge gauge,slightly uneven tension from one string to the next)
I believe they are actually chinese made, Hofner Flats (but not the contemporary ones which are made overseas) and Tapes are made by Pyramid. The Contemporary strings are not really worth bothering with imo/ime , the rounds sound amazing.....for about a week after which they go completely dead , the contemporary flats just sound awful straight from the packet

Glad I found this thread, I have an 18" MUB Miezo coming next week. It's a six string, it's strung .125 to .30. The list has two Optima sets like this, but I can't find those particular sets on the Optima website.
Anyone else find any other short scale 6 ers? Looking for rounds, it's pretty hard to find. Wondering if I may just have to buy a 5 string set and then an individual string.

I'm on the hunt for short scale (30") 5-string flatwounds - are Labella DTF and Dunlop the only option? I looked for the Optimas on the list but could not find any.
Fret Nation advertises DR Legends, although they’re marked as “currently unavailable.”
Also this is technically a medium scale set, but the description says that they “[w]ill fit some 30” instruments.” So maybe you can find these elsewhere.
