B & M Brown Bread in a can. Anybody ever eat this stuff?

NBD (New bread day) report: I finally found this stuff yesterday at the grocery. It was hidden away on a top shelf between the spices and baking needs. Weird, but whatever. It set me back $3.79. A few minutes ago I opened the can and rammed the brown mass out. I must say, it was stuck in there pretty good and did not want to leave. I toasted a couple slices until they were slightly crispy on the edges and the raisins were soft. Buttered it up and dove in. Overall impression is not bad, not bad at all. Somewhat sweet especially with the raisins and not really as dry as reported. Later on I'll try the cream cheese, as some have suggested.
I'm staying at my mother's house right now and she has a can of B&M Brown Bread with Raisins. I just got it. I will give it a try and report back.
I got my groceries.
I tried the B&M beans….hmmm..so so.
I think I prefer Bush's beans.

As I noted earlier in this thread, the pleasures afforded by canned brown bread are subtle and mild. If your culinary programming has you craving to be stunned by lashings of HFCS and saturated fat, look elsewhere. Or if you're a pizza-with-everything type. (New Haven expatriate: grew up with tomato pie from Sally's Apizza, which I preferred to the extravagant variation of tomato plus mozzarella.)

I remember this stuff. Been decades since I had any and I'm really surprised it still exists. And now I have an unexplained craving.

I can confirm, it is.
Then again, bread of any kind warmed up with butter is usually good.
One of our favorite restaurants here in town served warm sourdough bread with soft butter at the table in a similar fashion how Mexican joints give you chips and salsa. When the pandemic started, they stopped doing the bread and butter at the table but also went to take out only shortly after. So disappointing.
We're hoping they return to normal soon.

Canned bread is perfect for people who normally cut off the crust.
For some reason I have a memory of this from my childhood. I don't remember if I liked it or not, but I remember thinking, bread in a can? What up wit dat?
That would look good with a fresh can of Cranberry Sauce next to it.I opened the can of B&M Brown Bread with Raisins my mother had for awhile. I heated it in the microwave oven and put margarine on it. It had a slightly strong, molasses flavor but tasted good. Here is what it looked like right out of the can.
Dinner night is gettin' fancy.
The can-o-bread is still in my pantry. The wife has been laying off bread. And I don't need/want to open the can right now just for me,

Hot; sliced into rounds; and slathered in butter? Oh, yeah; bet your Bippy it tastes good! With B&M baked beans and Chorizos, it's better than good. When I was a kid, that was a family dinner staple...
I just looked on top of the refrigerator and the can we had is gone. Not sure if housemate threw it out while I was spending time at my daughter's last week but it's not anywhere I can see.

IIRC it was his can to begin with - perhaps he got hungry.

His response: "I put two slices together with pbj....ate a bite...threw it away. I survived".
It's cool, I wanted to try the raisin kind anyway. Probably buy a can and weird out the grandkids with it.
