B-quad vs Cirrus?

So, I have the opportunity to purchase a B-quad for about $925, BUT I see many cirrus (cirri?) available even cheaper used and only slightly more expensive new. I see both have high quality components such as laminated graphite reinforced through necks, or a modulus made graphite neck, and what apparently are both peavey's VLF pickups. So I ask, what would end up being a better choice? Is it just apples and oranges?

B-Quad, all the way!!! Stereo inputs, piezo bridge, Modulus neck (featuring a neck tilt option that is awesome...super low action!). The B-Quads were over $2k new...and worth every penny! There's a reason you see so many Cirrus' and not many B-Quads...most will never part with their B's. I, unfortunately, parted with mine and stick kick myself!

If you have a chance to get a B-Quad, do it. Should be able to do everything the Cirrus can, plus the piezos and the Modulus neck - big positives.

One of the saddest times of my life was watching TWO of them, 5-string versions, teal and red, go in and out of BassNW within a month of each other. Of course, I was broke. :bawl:

I have no experience with B-quads so I can't compare, however the USA Cirrus basses are the best playing and sounding basses I have ever played in my 30+ years experience, that's why I have two of them, both fivers. And I have gone through over 100 basses. Buying these for $800 - $1000 used is a steal.

A cirrus and and bxp are VERY close alike.. one is a natural neck.. one is a gloss.. I've owned them both.

I kept my USA for snob appeal.. gigged the BXP for the value...

If looking at BXP.. make sure it's Indonesian - not Chineese.

(I may be the one that bought the B-Quad ----- PM me I may have a better bass option than a Cirrus 4)

To me the Cirrus 35" scale is a noticeable "stretch" for my left arm/hand. I have both a B-quad and a Cirrus both 4's. The neck on the Cirrus is fine man! It's fast feeling and smooth due to the oil rubbed finish. I'm really digging the B-quad's versatility though and I like the 34" scale better. I don't think you would be dissapointed with either, but you should check out the 35" scale and see if you like it. It does keep the Cirrus in the case more so than not for me.

Update..

I received and setup the mentioned BQuad... took some time to dial it in..

Stellar...

Stellar enough that I immediately bought another.

Shy Guy's described BQuad will be listed here in the next few months... keeping the other $$$$$$$ one I ordered.

Cool bass once we understand the controls.
